Microsoft has been in full retreat on Silverlight ever since it revealed that HTML5 would be at the heart of Windows 8 Metro, but nevertheless the sudden closure of the main Silverlight website has an air of finality to it.
What used to be the primary information source for Silverlight now merely redirects to a page on MSDN.
RIP Silverlight: 2007-2012.
