I seem to have missed this last month, but interesting nonetheless to see that MTS has relaunched and re-branded the Bonds.com platform they acquired for $15m last year as MTSBondsPro and have now launched a HTML5 version of the platform.
Here are a couple of comments from an interview with MTS Markets CEO, Mark Monahan in Waters Technology that bring a smile:
“We’ve made it pretty much the same [as the previous platform] except, given the fact that it’s HTML5, it’s demonstrably quicker,…. You can also view [information] any way you want.
So the two biggest concerns that people had are taken care of just because it’s HTML5.” …. “Traders are a demanding bunch and with this rollout, load times are 10x faster than the Citrix-driven platform“
HTML5 not only delivers ubiquitous deployment, but also the improved speed and performance demanded, and ……
“it is important that the new HTML5 platform retained a similar look and feel to the previous one“
provides the design flexibility needed to support the familiar ‘retro’ look that users of the old platform were familiar with.
MTS BondsPro HTML5 platform
With trading platforms, it’s important that users feel the comfortable familiarity when you migrate to HTML, so make changes carefully, and slowly. Otherwise you risk alienating your users and losing them – fact sheet here.
