Bloomberg has at last agreed to open their market data APIs (called BLPAPI) to third-party developers.
Not sure if this extends to opening up their analytics, but I could see some excellent applications being developed, which leverage Bloomberg superb deep analytic capabilities, such as trading platforms providing trading strategies, which leverage Bloomberg’s analytics.
Of course the Bloomberg Messaging will remain closed to the outside world!
Still, this is an excellent move by Bloomberg.
